Setting Up Direct Booking Payments & Deposits

How to require full payment or a deposit before a client can book through Direct Booking.

With Otto's Direct Booking feature, clinics can require a payment or deposit before pet parents can book an appointment. This ensures commitment and reduces no-shows, helping your clinic run smoothly.

How to Set Up Direct Booking Payments/Deposits:

  1. Navigate to Settings In Otto Flow, go to Settings and select Appointments.

  1. Select the Appointment Type Find the appointment type you'd like to update, then click the Edit icon next to it.

  1. Enable Payments In the Direct Booking section, toggle on Collect Direct Booking Payment and enter the required payment amount.

  1. Select which group of clients will be charged In Require Deposit For you can select between: New Clients only, Existing Clients and/or Restricted Clients (clients with an Active alert and restriction to Direct Booking).

  1. Set as a Deposit If you’d like to collect a deposit instead of full payment, enable the Make Payment a Deposit option.

  1. Review on Your Website Widget The payment or deposit will be displayed to the pet parent when they book through your website, making it clear upfront.

  • Efficient Reporting: Track all transactions easily in the Payments report, with a new transaction type labeled “Direct Booking Deposit” for clarity.
