To ensure your clinic can process Otto or Care Membership payments seamlessly in Cornerstone, follow these essential setup steps.

Step 1: Create a Payment Type (Required)
If your clinic needs a dedicated payment type for Otto or Care Membership transactions, follow these steps:

Navigate to Menu → Controls → Payment Types.

Click New to create a new payment type.

In the dialog box, enter a Payment Method Name that suits your clinic’s reporting needs (e.g., TeleVet).

Click OK to save.
Step 2: Sync Credit Codes (Required)
Credit codes determine which payment types are accepted for a client. For example, a "Cash Only" credit code prevents check payments. To ensure Otto or Care Membership payments are allowed, follow these steps:

Go to Menu → Controls → Credit Codes.

Click New, or select an existing code and click Update.

In the Description field, enter or modify the name of the credit code.

Check the Alert box to trigger a client alert.

In the Payment Types Allowed list, select the payment type(s) that should be accepted (make sure Otto or Care Plan Payments are included).

Click OK to save.

Repeat as needed for additional credit codes.
Step 3: Create a TeleVet Employee (Optional)
To facilitate writebacks and manage Care Membership payments effectively, your clinic can create a dedicated TeleVet employee in Cornerstone:

Navigate to Menu → Lists → Staff.

Click New to add a new staff member.
-
Enter a name (e.g., TeleVet Payments).
-
Assign this staff member as the default exporter for conversations and forms.

Click OK to save.
