FAQs: Pulse and Otto

When does data sync between Pulse and Otto?

Data will sync from Pulse to Otto nightly. Syncing from Otto to Pulse happens multiple times per hour. 

If I create an appointment in Otto, will it create in Pulse as well?

No, appointments created in Otto will not reflect in Pulse.

If I delete an appointment in Otto, will it be deleted in Pulse as well?

No, an appointment that is created in Pulse and then deleted from Otto will not be removed from Pulse’s schedule.

How do you delete an appointment in Pulse so it syncs back to Otto?

Within Pulse:
1. Click on the appointment in the scheduler
2. Click Remove
3. Click Yes

These changes will sync to Otto in 24 hours and remove the appointment from the calendar to prevent automations from sending.

If an appointment is confirmed in Otto, will that confirmation sync back in Pulse?

Yes! A confirmed appointment in Otto will sync back to Pulse. This does require some backend work, so please reach out to our Support team at Support@otto.vet, and they will walk you through the process.

If I create a new client and/or pet in Pulse, will they automatically show up in Otto?

New clients and/or pets will sync from Pulse to Otto within 24 hours. Secondary contacts set in Pulse will not sync to Otto.

If I create a new client and/or pet in Otto, will they automatically sync back into Pulse?

No, clients and pets created in Otto will not sync back into Pulse. Create all clients and pets within Pulse to sync them to Otto within 24 hours.

Do conversations export back into Pulse?

Conversations can be manually or automatically exported from Otto into Pulse upon completion of a chat. Exported conversations can be visible in the client records section, under MR View By Date.

Do forms export back into Pulse?

Forms can be manually exported from Otto into Pulse. If forms are exported within conversations, they will appear as clickable links within the export. Exported conversations can be visible in the client records section, under MR View By Date.

Can I use Otto to collect payments?

Do payments made in Otto reflect in client balances in eVet?

No - payments made within Otto will not update client balances. To view payments made, navigate to the Reporting tab in the left hand menu.

Can I use Otto for my service reminders?

Yes, clinics on eVetPractice can use Otto to manage their service reminders. To learn how to set up service reminders, click here. 

Can clients see pet vaccine data?

Yes, clients can find their pet vaccine information by logging in to their Pet Portal (including the Otto app).

  • How to help pet parents view their Pet ID Card in their pet portal

    1. Clients should log into their pet portal via the Otto app (https://pet.otto.vet/) or receive the link to their web-based pet portal
    2. All of their pets listed in Pulse will be listed in the top row of the pet portal
    3. Select the pet that they want vaccine information for
    4. Click the option ‘View Pet ID Card’ in the upper-right corner
    5. Clients can then download the data as a PDF
    6. Upcoming service reminders can be viewed by clicking on Reminders
