We have expanded the service reminder capabilities to allow them to be consolidated per pet. There is now the ability to prevent a service reminder from sending if there is an appointment scheduled. Please see the details below for additional details.
Sending service reminders consolidation per pet
- Service reminders will now send per client instead of per pet
- All services for all pets within 30 days of the due date will show in one service reminder message (text/email/postcard)
Service reminders not sending if there is an appointment scheduled
- If a pet has an appointment scheduled on the calendar, service reminders will stop sending for that pet.
- service reminder wont send if:
- there is an appointment on the calendar 30 days before the due date
- there is an appointment on the calendar 60 days after the due date
- service reminder wont send if:
Service Reminder Settings Control
You can adjust and edit your service reminder settings inside of Otto.
Inside Settings > Reminders, there is a chart where you can adjust the timing of your service reminders or turn them on/off if needed.
Per-appointment-type and per-service send controls
Clinics can now fine-tune reminder logic further:
- Per-appointment-type exemptions — allow specific appointment types not to block reminders. Useful when a recurring visit type (e.g. nail trims) shouldn't suppress a separate annual-exam reminder.
- Per-service always-send — flag certain services to send reminders every cycle regardless of recent appointments. Useful for time-sensitive recurring services (e.g. heartworm prevention).
Both controls live in Settings → Reminders.
