What is "Blocked Numbers"?
Blocked Numbers is a Flow settings update that allows clinic admin users to block specific phone numbers in Flow, preventing unwanted or spammy messages from disrupting your clinic's workflow. This feature applies only to text messages and will not affect phone calls.
When to use Blocked Numbers:
If your clinic receives spammy texts through direct messages or via the website widget, admin users can block these numbers to maintain a smooth workflow.
How to Block a Phone Number in Flow:
Option A: Through Settings

Navigate to Settings > Text Messaging:
- Go to Settings in Flow.
- Select Text Messaging.

Block the Number:
- Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the “Blocked Phone Numbers” table.
- Click on + Block Number.
- Enter the phone number you wish to block.
- Add any relevant notes regarding the block. These notes are internal only and the client will not see it.
- Press Submit.
Option B: Through Conversations

Find the Conversation:
- Go to the conversation with the text from the number you want to block.

Block the Number:
- Hover over the last message received from that number.
- Click on the vertical ellipsis button (three dots) to the far right.
- Select Block this number.
- The phone number will automatically appear in the modal. Add any relevant notes. These notes are internal only and the client will not see it.
- Press Submit.

Confirmation:
- The blocked number will now be visible in Settings > Text Messaging under the Blocked Phone Numbers section.
How to Edit or Unblock a Numbers:

Navigate to Blocked Phone Numbers:
- Go to Settings > Text Messaging and scroll to the Blocked Phone Numbers section.

Edit the Block:
- Find the number you want to edit and click View.
- Click on the vertical ellipsis menu (three dots) to the right of the phone number.
- Select Edit.
- In the Edit menu, you can add additional (internal only) notes or use the Block Number toggle to block/unblock the number.
- Press Submit to save your changes.
Permissions:

Admins:
- Can block numbers in both Settings > Text Messaging and Conversations.
- Can edit blocked numbers in the Blocked Phone Numbers list.

Non-Admin Users:
- Can see that a number is blocked in conversations (indicated by a block icon next to the phone icon and a hover message).
- Can view the block list in Settings > Text Messaging but cannot edit the records.
